In an effort to maintain my new year’s resolution of taking a photograph and loading it up on 2009’s Daily Pictures for every single day of 2009, I have been taking a lot of pictures.
Some days, I keep it simple and take one photograph. Like this day, during which I was rather busy, and the only thing I found visually appealing was my dinner. Other days, I take so many photographs that it takes me forever to decide which picture to post. I once ended up doing this, which strictly speaking is not posting “one” photograph, but rather, a medley of three that I enjoyed. Sita the cat was having a particularly photogenic half-hour, that day.
Today, I am enjoying a similar conundrum. I have decided that the solution is to post pictures to more than one blog today.
Sita the cat has been particularly affectionate and in my face, and I typically respond to that by letting her cuddle for a while, then over-cuddling her until she’s annoyed. Does anyone else do this to their cat? Anyway, usually when I do this, she will let me get up to get a drink or what have you. Today, I decided to carry my camera around with me, and when she came to sit on my lap, the resulting series of photographs, straight out of the camera and unedited, reminded me of a high school portrait sitting, except that the subject was sitting on my lap, and I was wearing a robe. Which probably isn’t typical for a portrait session. Probably.
_______________
Studio portrait, Sita. We’re gonna do a studio portrait. Of you! Aren’t you excited?

OK, so long as that’s not an eye roll, it’s good, but let’s try looking straight at Carmella Bruce.

The camera, Sita, the camera.

Oh, so it’s gonna be like that, is it? Well!
And to think I was gonna give you some of the m-i-l-k today.

That’s right, milk. I was gonna give you milk. Got your attention now, don’t I?

Well there’s no need to get pissy, you’re getting milk out of this. Now pose. Angle your chin until you’re strained and mildly uncomfortable.

That’s more like it. In fact, think that last one’s the winner.
It’s a wrap, people!
