I’d like to elaborate on my pigeon hatred for a moment.

Each morning, I wake up to the irritating sound of cooing. This you already know. But there’s more. They seem to have decided that my balcony is a perfect spot to visit, each day. So now, there’s poop to deal with. It’s a big balcony. I’m not happy about the pooping. And each morning, I have to start the day off with some pigeon shooing, which is way less fun than it sounds, let me tell you. Doesn’t involve shoes. Very misleading term. So each morning, these damn pigeons add to the poop on the balcony. It’s very unpleasant. They’ve started pooping on the furniture. The tiles on the bistro-esque patio table we have put outside have now officially been pigeon pooped on. I am not happy with that. I like those tiles.

Err… I’d also like to explain a little bit about my previous post. Do forgive the non-coherent-ness of it all. The important points are: Donna, Charlene and I went out dancing, it was a whole lot of fun on a fantastically balmy evening, we had good pizza, and came home without incident. Also, we made our costumes. Click on the previous post link to see Donna’s again, it’s gorgeous.

I’m so proud of mine this year; it’s by far the best Halloween costume I’ve ever made.

Finally, I was able to make exactly what I drew and pictured in my head! Note to self – ignore patterns more often. Like you do with knitting.

Speaking of knitting, I’ve finished a birthday present for a friend, and am modelling it in the following picture.

There will be mittens to match, but I’m still working on them. I just had to show it off. Basket weave, baby. It’s my current obsession.

I’ve made myself the same scarf, only a bit longer, in a subdued pink that holds a hint of shimmer. It’s gorgeous and goes perfectly with a shiny green bomber-style coat I recently acquired.

Tonight, I’m giving a piano lesson. It’ll be the second one with this student, and I find myself thinking about lesson plans in random moments during the week. So much fun! I figure if I do this long enough, I will be able to afford to buy myself an electric piano. Totally achievable. I’ve decided that I’ve neglected the piano for long enough. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Time to get back into the swing of things.

Also? I’m halfway done chapter six in my book. I am hoping to finish it by Thursday. This will mean I will have completed two chapters in two weeks. Progress. It’s beautiful. I just have to remember to ignore the low moments, and the high moments reign supreme!
